A Final Farewell to Officer Patty Parete

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Hundreds are expected to attend Trinity Episcopal Church in Downtown Buffalo for Wednesday's funeral for Officer Patty Parete, who died six years after being shot in the line of duty.

The service will begin at 11am, and two blocks of Delaware Avenue near the church are being closed off to traffic during the service. Delaware Avenue will be closed from Tupper to Edward and from Edward to Virginia from 10am-2pm. Buffalo police say that east-west traffic is not expected to be affected in that area but overall you might experience some delays or congestion.

For those who live or work near the church, police say don't be alarmed by the sound of gunfire between 12-12:30pm. That is the expected time of the 21-gun salute to Parete, as part of the ceremony.

There will be no formal procession leading to the church and the service will conclude at the church.

Buffalo fire will drape an American flag across Delaware Avenue at Tupper.

The service is open to all, but capacity inside the church is at 500.
