Sabres Lose 3-1 To Bruins

Buffalo, NY  (WGR/WBEN) -- The Sabres were denied their first three-game win streak of the season as they dropped a 3-1 decision to the Boston Bruins Sunday night.

Patrice Bergeron's power play goal at 7:52 of the third period broke a 1-1 tie, and proved to be the game winner, as the Sabres offense went cold in the final minutes of regulation.

Boston opened the scoring in the second period as Brad Marchand netted his sixth of the year.  Later in the period Tyler Ennis was able to bury a cross-ice feed from Drew Stafford to tie the game for his fifth of the season.

Boston backup goalie Anton Khudobin stopped 25 of Buffalo's 26 shots in the victory.  Ryan Miller was the lone bright spot for Buffalo as he made 36 saves on 38 shots.

The Sabres fall to 5-7-1 on the year and remain last in the Northeast Division.  Their next game is Tuesday in Ottawa.

The Boston Bruins were able to fly into town Saturday night, getting out of blizzard-socked Beantown in time to ensure their travel plans to Buffalo.
