Standoff in Hamburg Over



Hamburg, NY (WBEN) Big Tree Road near Eaglecrest in Hamburg was closed off to traffic for a good part of Monday after a standoff that lasted nearly 16 hours.

A 42 year old man was inside a home according to police. Police say they spotted him with a shotgun. Police say the man's girlfriend alerted them to the situation.

Police say the man has made suicidial threats.

Just before 4pm, the standoff came to an end, and the man was in custody.
