Paladino Flips Off Dicker At Gun Rally

Two years after a shoving and shouting match during Carl Paladino's 2010 gubernatorial race, he held a slightly less confrontational round two with New York Post writer Fred Dicker at an Albany rally against gun control Tuesday.

Paladino, who helped organize the rally, laughingly flipped Dicker off at the end of the rally, standing in front of the windows to Dicker's radio studio, giving him a one finger salute.

Ironically, Dicker and Paladino agree in their opposition to the recent New York State gun control laws, but have little good to say of each other on anything else.

Here's the way Albany Times Union Reporter Jimmy Vielkind wrote of it :

"A few moments later, Paladino walked to the glass-walled office of Fred Dicker, the state editor of the New York Post who was in the middle of his daily, live, radio show.

“Hey Fred!” Paladino shouted. The two men had a physical tiff during the 2010 campaign, where Dicker forcefully questioned Paladino about his unsubstantiated suggestion that Cuomo had been a womanizer, and Paladino yelled at Dicker for the actions of a Post reporter who staked out his Buffalo home.

Dicker looked up. Paladino raised his middle finger, smiled, and walked away."

Dicker was live on the air at Albany's Talk 1300 WGDJ at the time and reacted by calling Paladino "a thug" as part of a short monologue criticizing Paladino and the tone of politics.

"This is someone who purports to be a political leader in this state, he was the Republican candidate for governor in 2010, and he stands in the window, with a menacing face, and sticks his middle finger up at me. That's where New York politics is these days,"

Vielkind tells WBEN that while Paladino was smiling, it was not entirely lighthearted. He adds that there was no pushing or shoving of the kind that marked thier confrontation during the 2010 gubernatorial campaign.

Supporters and opponents of the state's new gun restrictions held competing rallies at the Capitol Tuesday.

Carl Paladino, the 2010 Republican candidate for governor organized bus transportation from Buffalo to the rally Tuesday on the Capitol steps.

A group called One Million Moms for Gun Control says its New York chapters will rally inside the Capitol and visit lawmakers to show support for the state's "leadership on common-sense gun regulation."

The dispute stems from Paladino's gubernatorial run against Cuomo, when the two got into a confrontation after Paladino accused Dicker of coordinating coverage that sent photographers after the young daughter he had with his mistress.

During that 2010 confrontation, the two men shoved back and forth,  and exchanged heated words. (See Video Below)

That confrontation came after Dicker asked Paladino for evidence to support his allegation that Democratic rival Andrew Cuomo had an extramarital affair.

The confrontation grows increasingly physical as Dicker continues to press Paladino on whether he has evidence for his charge.

"Of course I do," Paladino says, before confronting Dicker about the Post's coverage of his daughter.

"You send another goon to my daughter's house and I'll take you out, buddy!" Paladino told Dicker in the exchange caught on video.

When Dicker asked how he planned to do that, Paladino replied, "Watch!"

"Are you threatening me?" Dicker asked, before Paladino campaign manager Michael Caputo separated the two

Classy as always
This is a good example of how the GOP strategy of mobilizing the mouth breathers has backfired. Republicans will never win general elections again.

Put these brats in the time-out corner
First, I want to go on record as saying that Paladino is an embarrassment to the area and I don't understand why anyone consults him for his opinions or "leadership" on any matters of importance in the area. Having said that...Dicker started this round when he made a comment on his radio show that if background checks are done on people applying for gun permits, Paladino would show up at the top of the "mentally unstable" list. He immediately followed that comment by saying that Paladino had just shown up at the studio window and flipped him the bird as his response, so he obviously must've known that Paladino was in the building and within earshot of his comments. Of course, Paladino's momma must've never told him how to be a bigger person and ignore instigators; his response was childish to say the least. Dicker baited Paladino and Paladino stupidly fell for it.

Paladino is a lot more honest than Cuomo.
Paladino tells it like it is. You know what's he's thinking. Our regular NY politicians are deceitful and can't be trusted. You might not like what Paladino says but you can be sure it's from him. Paladino, frontal assault, Cuomo, back stabber.

GOOD FOR CARL!
Fred Dicker needs to be flipped off. Perhaps a bootprint on the back of his pants as well.

A true embarrassment to WNY
People outside of the area must think we're a bunch of morons.

The right way to do it
Paladino may not appeal to everyone but when all indications point to "stupid" then that's the term he uses. Today's society wants to sugar-coat everything so as not to offend anyone but allows issues to continue unabated because nobody really knows what is going on. I would prefer Paladino's up-front honesty to Cuomo's Hitler-style anti-gun rant with absolutely no basis in documented fact that had him looking every bit like a drooling escapee from the nut house. By the way, we all know Cuomo, Obama and Bloomberg each have a heavily-armed posse that will never go away, even though their flawed logic means there will never be another shooting in America. Yeah, right!

Morons??
No Duh!!! Wouldn't you think so too??? Look at the people New Yorkers elect! Both Cuomos (you like your taxes?), Sheldon Silver, Shirley Huntley (D-Queens), Vito Lopez (D-Brooklyn)... Need I go on? How about Naomi Rivera and Bill Boyland? Do you want the list of NY elected officials that are currently behind bars? Why do you think Palladino and others intelligent enough to see the big picture, are so sick of the fecal matter coming down onto us from the thiefs in Albany? Open your eyes!

Carl relays message well
Mr. Paladino expresses the collective frustration of all the tax paying law abiding citizens who are subject to Cuomos dictatorship.I would vote for him again and I applaud him.
