Leave the kid alone!
Maybe the teacher is part of the problem. No jury just exicution right. Was the student right about the teacher? Wouldn't be the first time a teacher was what a student called them. If you can't be a little thick skinned about these things maybe you should work cleanup at a fast food restaurant!

Good for the district and the superintendent for doing what was right.
Obviously this knuckle head has a lot to learn about life. What a disgrace the parents are. How about teaching your child respect, appropriate behavior, and right from wrong instead of blaming everyone else for your shortcomings as a parent. Good luckBrandon Guzda as you move forward in life. One simple internet search form potential employers and they will see what a immature weasel you are.

NO!
What happens outside school stays outside school, not to mention the fact that as a young AMERICAN he happens to have the constitutional right to say what he likes.

School Overreach
If the tweet was not done at a school event, or done using school resources, or making a threat against someone at the school, then the school has absolutely no business whatsoever doing anything about it. I would have no problem with giving him a talking to, but any disciplinary action is a massive overreach which should be smacked down hard. And I say this as a teacher myself. -P. Gothgen

suspension....WHY!!!!
Just because a student is rowdy at a hockey game does not give the school the right to ban him from voicing his opinion about what is going on at the game or the way it is being played or the way the referee's are calling the game. Unless this student was using foul language I see no reason for the teacher to discipline him, especially if he was not given a fair warning. Where I was grew up I was alway's told that stick's and stone's will break my bone's but name's will never hurt me. This teacher need's to grow up and get over it.
