On February 16, 2013, at approximately 02:15 A.M., Troopers Hadsall and Kasperek, working out of SP Alden and Newstead, stopped a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, for having a headlight and license plate light out, on Transit Road in the Town of Lancaster N.Y.
The driver, who was later identified as Gregory M. Benson II, 38 years of age, from Cheektowaga N.Y., was arrested for Criminal Impersonation after providing a false name to the officers at the scene, and subsequently gave his real name after realizing that the officers were going turn him over to the Lackawanna Police Department in lieu of an active Warrant associated with the false name given.
Subsequently, Mr. Gregory Benson was processed for the Criminal Impersonation crime and was later turned over to the City of Buffalo Police Department, who had an active Warrant of Arrest for Mr. Benson and lodged him at the City of Buffalo holding Center pending arraignment as a result of the Warrant.
Mr. Benson will be arraigned before the Town of Lancaster Court for the False Impersonation charges on a later date.
