Sabres Host Penguins

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The Buffalo Sabres are hoping to build on their 4-2 win over the Boston Bruins Friday when they play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a nationally televised game at First Niagara Center. Buffalo enters the game languishing near the bottom of the Eastern Conference and need to string together a number of wins to climb back into the playoff hunt.
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh is one of the top teams in the East, they rank second in the Atlantic division and holds a seven point edge over the Sabres when it comes to the overall conference standings. The Pens bring some star-power to the game today with the likes of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin both however trail Buffalo's Thomas Vanek in the league's individual statistics. Vanek continues to lead the league in points (23) and goals (11). Pittsburgh's James Neal is tied with Vanek atop the goals leaderboard with 11.

Buffalo will be without forward Ville Leino (hip), who has not played this season, and defenseman Andrej Sekera (lower body). Face off is set for 12:30.
