Buffalo, NY (WBEN) By a 7-4 vote, the Erie County Legislature has approved a resolution sponsored by Republicans to repeal the NYSAFE Act.
The legislature also approved a resolution calling for changes to the law.
The resolution was co-sponsored and introduced by the minority caucus of the legislature.
Democrat Tom Loughran told lawmakers during Thursday's session he supports the Republican resolution opposing the gun control law. Loughran along with Terrence McCracken joined the minority caucus in favor of the resolution. Betty Jean Grant, Timothy Hogues, Thomas Mazur, and Lynn Marinelli voted against the resolution.
Before the meeting, a rally was held by those opposed to the NYSAFE Act.
