Olean, NY (WBEN) A member of the Cattaraugus County Legislature is organizing a rally at Lincoln Park Saturday afternoon protesting the NYSAFE Act.

"We believe there's a coordinated effort to subvert the Constitution, albeit in a peacemeal fashion," says Carl Edwards. "(President Obama) is trying to do legislation that the Congress should be doing."

Edwards hopes for a turnout of 500 to 1,000 people. The county legislature is among those who have passed resolutions calling for the repeal of the NYSAFE Act, but will Albany listen? "I really don't know, but I guarantee you if we don't make a lot of noise, we'll get nothing done," says Edwards.

The rally begins at 2pm.
