Sabres Go For Four In A Row

New York, NY (WBEN) The Buffalo Sabres arrived in New York late Saturday night following their 4-3 shootout win over the New Jersey Devils hours earlier at First Niagara Center. That victory was the third straight for Buffalo who are now four points behind a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Tonight, the team will try to win its fourth straight as they take on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Thomas Vanek sat out Saturday's game in Buffalo with an 'upper body injury' and his status remains unclear for tonight's game in New York. Defensemen Alexander Sulzer and Jordan Leopold are listed as day-to-day with their injuries.

The Sabres got goals Saturday from Jason Pominville (8,9) and Jochen Hecht (1) to lead the team into a shootout with the Devils. Pominville and Tyler Ennis scored while Ryan Miller blanked the two shooters he faces, closing out a game in which Miller stopped 28 of 31 shots. Face off in New York is slated for 7:30.
