Local bankruptcy filings for February fell into line with national trends following an increase in January that was described as -- atypical. The U-S Bankruptcy Court for the Western District says the numbers for February showed a decrease of 21-percent across the district -- compared with same month a year ago. In January, bankruptcies were up by a percent across the district.

Tops Markets has agreed to a sponsorship deal with Darien Lake and Live Nation for a concert series at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. Business First reports the financial terms of that deal weren't disclosed.

The parent of HSBC Bank USA said its net profit declined about 16 percent in 2012. The holding company says a nearly 2-billion dollar fine against the bank -- to settle claims of money laundering -- was a factor.
