Buffalo, NY (WBEN) It wasn't too long ago the financially troubled Sheehan Memorial Hospital shuttered for good. Now, there is a new future for the campus.

The McGuire Group is turning the campus into a long term care facility. "It begins to diversify the campus away from acute care," says Congressman Brian Higgins, on hand for Friday's announcement. "This will provide a variety of health care services for the residents there."

The facility will be known as Compass East.
