Michael Nicometo, 28, is charged with burglary, grand larceny, and criminal mischief. The wiring is valued at over $50,000.
The thefts started in June of last year, with other similar thefts occurring in October -- and again last month.
Investigators say what made the thefts so unusual is that the wires were cut from between the transformer and the building while the high-voltage electric was still connected to the main power grid.
Police say Nicometo was developed as the suspect -- as someone who worked as an electrician and knew about high-voltage installations.
