BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say federal agents and Buffalo police have conducted a dozen raids in a crackdown targeting drug trafficking and violent crime on the city's east side.
The agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration's Buffalo office says the raids were carried out early Tuesday morning in a 10-block area where 10 homicides occurred last year. The city's police commissioner says his department teamed up with the DEA to "clean it up."
A police helicopter and SWAT teams from the FBI and police departments from suburban towns also were involved in the raids.
