WIVB-TV Channel Four received the most television nominations, suggested by the public and screened by an independent panel of Industry professionals primarily from outside Western New York.
The judging panel included: Tom Calderone, President/VH1;Tom Langmyer, Former Vice President & General Manager/WGN‐AM/Chicago and Mike Toppo, Director of video production/CNN/Atlanta among others.
In addition to Puckett's selection as a possible Radio Personality of the Year winner, Entercom Buffalo also received nominations for:
- WGR Sportsradio 550 and WKSE-FM/Kiss 98.5 as Radio Station of the Year
- Rob Lucas/STAR 102.5 and Janet Snyder/WKSE‐FM are both nominated for the Pinnacle Award given to an outstanding broadcaster with a long history on the Buffalo airwaves.
- Rob Lucas/STAR 102.5, Joe Buscaglia/WGR Sports Radio 550 and Jeremy White/WGR Sports Radio 550 were all nominated for the Best Use of Social Media
- Entercom's Sue Sullivan is nominated as Sales Executive of the Year
“The inaugural BEMAs last year were a huge success,” Heidi Raphael, the event chairperson said in a prepared statement.
“We know this year’s will be even better because of the incredible increase in the number of entries we had for each category, " Raphael added
This year’s BEMAs will be awarded Friday, April 26th at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens.
