Man Arraigned at Hospital After Shooting, Fire

KENDALL, N.Y. (AP/WBEN) - An Orleans County man accused of shooting his wife and setting fire to their home before shooting himself has been arraigned at a hospital.

Sheriff's Deputies say 64-year-old Dennis Buehler appeared before a judge at Strong Hospital in Rochester on attempted murder and assault charges earlier this week. Bail was set at $25,000 cash.

Deputies say Buehler shot his 58-year-old wife in the shoulder after an argument March 4th. Linda Buehler got out of the house and drove to a nearby home for help. She has since been released from the hospital and granted an order of protection.

Officials say before police arrived and surrounded the house, Dennis Buehler set fire to the home, then walked outside and shot himself in the face.
