Nik Wallenda and State Senator George Maziarz at Niagara Falls State Park speaking with reporters about, among other things, Wallenda's plan for a Niagara Falls home fro the daredevil.
Wallenda Wants Family Venue for Falls
Niagara Falls, NY (WBEN)- One of Nik Wallenda's promises in the time leading up to his wire walk across the Niagara Gorge at the Falls was his intention to bring a permenent attraction to the area, one associated with his family's daredevil business.
Nine months after the stunt, Wallenda told reporters in the Falls that he conitnues to look for investors, and is continuing to "work hard" to bring a family-friendly venue to Niagara Falls, USA.
"Something for families," said Wallenda. "It's something we're seriously lacking on this side of the Falls."
Wallenda, who is planning a wire walk across the Grand Canyon this summer, speraks from experience. He said the Seneca Niagara Casino was a great place to stay, but he had to take his family across the river to Ontario for family entertainment.
He hopes to build a circus-like big-top, in which he'll perform. The Sarasota, Florida resident says at first, the building would be temporary, but then a permenent attraction would include ziplines, and an interactive wire over a pool.
Not wanting to use public money, Wallenda is continuing to woo investors.
"We're stioll pushing very hard. I'm a never give up kinda guy. I believe if its not this summer, than next summer, but we will have an attraction here for sure."
