Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Pamela Brown has named Dr. Mary Guinn Interim Deputy Superintendent.
Brown's appointing of Guinn is part of the central office reorganization, which starts with reinstating the deputy superintendent post. Brown says Guinn's responsibilities will include overseeing critical District departments including finance, school leadership, curriculum and instruction, talent management, and operations.
Guinn has held the deputy superintendent position in Falcon, Colorado; and has served as deputy superintendent and Chief Academic Officer of Tulsa Public Schools, the largest district in the State of Oklahoma. She was also superintendent of Indiana’s Gary School District for six years.
“I look forward to my work in Buffalo,” said Dr. Guinn. "I intend to support Dr. Brown in implementing strategies that will foster District transformation and address stakeholder concerns in regard to student achievement. I see the Buffalo Public Schools as a district on the rise, and I am happy to be here to help at this hopeful and exciting time."
