Perhaps with an eye toward today's 40th anniversary of the cellphone, AT&T has announced it will begin taking pre-orders Thursday for its new HTC-One Smartphone. It's release date is April 19th. AT&T also reported the Kindle HD will be available in stores this Friday.
Verizon Wireless has activated new 4G LTE coverage at fifteen sites in the area. The areas covered are primarily north and east of Buffalo in Erie County and in northern Niagara County.
The state Labor Department recorded no change in the unemployment rate for the Buffalo-Niagara region for February. The rate of 9.2% was exactly the same as it was for February 2012. The statewide unemployment rate for February was 8.4%.
Bond ratings for the city of Buffalo are positive; Fitch Ratings offering an "A+," Moody's Investor Services handing out an "A-1" and Standard & Poor's delivering an "A" rating.
