ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP/WBEN) - A Rochester area woman has been arraigned on a state charge she lied on a form while buying two guns that authorities say a neighbor used two years later to ambush and kill firefighters.
Dawn Nguyen was in court Monday on one count of falsifying business records. Nguyen, who was initially arrested in December and faces similar federal charges, was indicted April 3 and previously pleaded not guilty.
Nguyen's lawyer, Matthew Parrinello, says it's a waste of money to pursue Nguyen in both courts.
Authorities say Nguyen bought a rifle and shotgun for felon William Spengler in 2010.
Spengler killed two firefighters and wounded two others as they responded to his burning Webster home on Dec. 24. He then killed himself.
