That’s the Local Restaurant Week (LRW) slogan and it’s my mantra too. LRW is a bi-annual event celebrating its ninth run as one of our region’s most popular food events. Every spring and fall, local, independent eateries throughout Erie and Niagara counties offer hungry diners a chance to enjoy all types of cuisine made by the locals, not national cookie-cutter chain restaurants. Dining features start at $20.13.

• Of the 200 participating places, 22 new first time LRW restaurants are on board
• More than 60 restaurants are offering lunch dining features, nearly all of them 2 for $20.13
• The local food service industry is the region’s second largest employer.
• The local economic impact for LRW each year is more than $8 million
“This is the 9th time we have run LRW. We feel very fortunate that the promotion has been embraced by Western New Yorkers and that is has become such a highly anticipated event,” said Christa Hobart, event organizer. “Many people go out several times a week, trying a different place every day. We have so many incredible local independent restaurants right here in our own neighborhoods, so many of which are synonymous with Buffalo. You mention Buffalo and the conversation quickly turns to food and treasured iconic restaurants like Chef’s, Ilio Di’Paolo’s and Schwabl’s,” added Hobart.
