Buffalo, NY (WBEN) If Downtown Buffalo feels like Athens, you're right. The Buffalo Greek Fest is taking over Delaware at West Utica this weekend.
"I think the biggest part of the Greek Fest is the community coming together and enjoying the Greek culture, music, food and entertaining," says Lou Pozantides. This event also kicks off the summer festival season in Western New York.
It's not sights and sounds that will get your attention, says Pozantides. "Smells, and when I mean smells, I'm talking souvlaki, baklava, gyro," notes Pozantides. "The saganaki is fried cheese. They put the cheese on a bed, the fire comes off the cheese and it melts onto the pita."
There's also a free shuttle service after 5pm each night to your vehicle within a two mile radius.
The event runs until midnight Friday, 11am to midnight Saturday, and noon to 9pm Sunday.
