(WBEN) - Strong Storms have caused several power outages throughout Western New York.
Niagara Falls Police have lifted a driving ban that was in effect on parts of Pine Road and Hyde Park Boulevard due to water covered roadways and downed trees and power lines.
National Grid reported that there were over 21,000 customers in Niagara County without Power at some point on Saturday, many of those outages occured in Lewiston and North Tonawanda. Most of the outages were caused by a downed transmission line. National Grid said that they sent extra crews to work on the problems and that most customers ccoul expect to have power back sometime Saturday night.
National Grid also reported nearly 7,000 customers in Erie county were without power. NYSEG said that at one point over 6,000 Erie county customers were powerless.
Niagara County Community College says that its main campus will be closed all of Saturday due to outages.
