Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The man at the center of a first of its kind case will see less jail time.
John Pieri was charged with criminal solicitation for encouraging the driver to leave the scene of an accident after Andrea Glinski's car struck and seriously injured Amy Stewart .
Pieri's initial conviction was overturned on a technicality, then he pleaded guilty as charged and sentenced to probation, with 30 days behind bars. Pieri was found guilty of violating probation for drinking alcohol and sentenced to a year.
An appeal led to his term being reduced to ten months, based on no prior criminal record and his gainful employment. The conviction was upheld.
