Headed to the Fair? Expect Bag Checks at Gate

The Erie County Fair Opens August 7 and runs through the 17th at the Fairgrounds in Hamburg, featuring grandstand concerts each day, a range of new entertainment exhibits, and some new security measures.

  Fairgrounds Admission:
Adults:  $10.00 
Seniors (60+):  $7.00 
Children 12 & under are FREE
Grandstand Concerts extra

August 11:  Veterans' Day Celebration at the Erie County Fair :  Free admission to the Fair for all Veterans and active military with proper id as well as children age 12 and under

Hours     Gates: August 7 : 2:00pm-10:00pm | Aug. 8-- 18: 10:00am-10:00pm
Exhibits &  Buildings:   10am - 10pm  Midway: 11am-11pm
Fair organizers say the heightened security will include checking all bags as fairgoers enter the gates and the grandstand.

No items are banned, but authorities including Hamburg Police, state troopers and the Erie County Sheriff's Office, said they will be looking for people carrying anything that appears unsafe.

All bags will be checked, big and small including camera and diaper bags

There will be a separate "No-Bags" line to speed folks without the need for inspection.

Save $5.00 when you bring in an original Tops receipt and pay just $20.  Must have an original Tops Receipt for each rider.

August 10:   $20 Ride all day wristband when you bring a canned food donation to the Fair.   For more information about the can drive click here.

JAMES E. STRATES SHOWS FUN CARDS : $23 for 70 credits Fun Cards are vaild everyday. Rides average 5-10 credits. Click here to buy online.

Save on parking when you take the shuttle to the Fair. On both weekends, park at ECC and take the shuttle right to the front gate of the Fair. (Available August 10,11,17,18 from 10am-11pm)

 Each year the fair features some free entertainment  with paid gate admission.  NEW acts for 2013 include:

Boys from Bushwood. Straight out of the comedy favorite Caddyshack, these impersonators will be making their way throughout the grounds posing for pictures and meeting our guests.
Dale Jones (Comedy Juggler). He has been named one of the world’s best jugglers by the International Jugglers Association and has been performing for over 20 years. What makes his act more astonishing is that he accomplishes all of his tricks with just one hand. 
Extreme Canines Stunt Show.  The show mixes comedy and amazing tricks in a way that will have the whole family entertained. This isn’t a demonstration but instead described as “Vegas-level” entertainment.  
Flippenout Trampoline Show. This high flying show has traveled the world doing incredible aerial stunts as high as 25 feet in the air all from a trampoline.
Lasertainment- Laser Light Show. End the day at the Fair with a nighttime laser light show that incorporates the latest technology with chart topping music. Lasertainment is safe and environmentally friendly.

InJest with Nels Ross. Self-proclaimed “oddball” Nels Ross (pictured L) will be performing a blend of comedy, magic, juggling and more that will keep audiences of all ages laughing.

Cirque Zuma Zuma. These performers come all the way from Africa and have been finalists on NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Their combination of dance, acrobatics and feats of strength will leave you amazed. 
Sea  Lion Splash. Back by popular demand Sea Lion Splash (pictured R)  will perform daily with their silly antics and zany tricks the sea lions will be sure to be a hit with guests of all ages.
Other annual free entertainment returning to the fair for 2013 includes:  
John Cassidy-The Bizarre Balloonologist (L), Gary the Silent Clown, The Gizmo Guys, Jerry Valley-Master Hypnotist, Jerry Ward- Chainsaw Artist, the Backyard Circus and Puppet Parade, Nya:Weh Indian Village Dance Troupe, Ramblin’ Lou Family Band, SkyRiver Butterflies, Steve Trash-Eco Magician, and Swifty Swine Racing Pigs (pictured below)
