Buffalo, NY (WBEN) -- In a move that was both a year in the making, and a complete shock, the state has ordered the shutdown of Pinnacle Charter School in Buffalo.
The original death sentence was passed last April, but the school won a year-long court injunction allowing it to show progress.
Unimpressed with the results, state education officials pressed their case in court, won two favorable decisions, and again have advised Pinnacle to close its doors.
However, now there are just days before classes begin for the fall, and last night's emergency meeting was populated by angry and stunned parents who want answers. Primarily, where their children will be attending school next month.
There are 560 children from kindergarten to eighth grade enrolled in Pinnacle for this school year.
