WNY Peace Center Rallies Against Military Strike

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Niagara Square the setting for a rally against a military strike on Syria during the noon hour Monday. Members of the Western New York Peace Center organized the rally.

"A military strike is only going to increase the death and destruction in Syria," says Victoria Ross with the WNY Peace Center. "It is not going to help the people. Heaping violence on violence doesn't help anything."

Ross says she's grateful for the support of Congressman Brian Higgins, who has said he will vote against military action against Syria. She's also concerned President Obama will go ahead without congressional approval.

Ross says only a select few who benefit from war. "The military contractors, the military industrial complex and the corporations who want oil benefit, the rest of us suffer," claims Ross.
