Dubai-based Alita USA Holdings Incorporated has settled on the former Republic Steel site for a new $102 million plant.  According to Business First, the company makes welded steel casing pipes used in the oil and hydrofracking industries.  Once it's operational, it would bring more than 170 jobs to the area.

The Buffalo Planning Board approved a proposal for the owners of the Acropolis restaurant to open Newbury Street Cafe on the former site of Louie's Hot Dogs on Elmwood Avenue.

Mod-Pac Incorporated's move from public to private company has gotten closer.  A proposed purchase price has been upped eighty-five cents to $9.25 per share.

SUNY Buffalo State holds a ribbon-cutting for its new $36.5 million Technology Building tomorrow.
