Buffalo, NY (WBEN) One week ago, Pinnacle Charter School became part of the Buffalo Public Schools and renamed PS 115. How has the transition gone?
"They really had a nice transition so far," says principal Dr. Kevin Eberle. "Between the curriculum and the teachers getting into the common core standards and trying to look at the social and emotional factors. With the acquisition of many former teachers coming into PS 115, it made it nice for students coming into the building.
Eberle says the goal is simple. "Raise the scores and look at higher expectations and goals for student outcomes, it's all about results," says Eberle.
Eberle adds its also about getting students prepared for college and careers. "Many people have a different look at a K-8 school as disconnected from commencement. I've been at elementary, middle, and high school levels and the years go fast when it comes to college and career preparedness. That's what we're focusing on," notes Eberle.
