Corasanti Himself a Victim of DWI

Cheektowaga, NY (WBEN) A year after being convicted of a misdemanor DWI in a crash that killed a teenager, Dr. James Corasanti finds himself the victim of a crash caused by a drunk driver.

Cheektowaga Police Captain Jim Speyer says it happened around 11:15 this morning on the 33 near the 90. "There was a vehicle driven by a 17 year old girl which rear-ended a 2012 Smart Car," says Speyer. "The driver was arrested for DWI, found to have a BAC of .12. She's charged with DWI, reckless driving, moving from a lane unsafely, passing on the right and imprudent speed."

Speyer says Corasanti and his driver suffered injuries. "Corsanti complained of back pain, the driver suffered a laceration to her head and was taken to ECMC," says Speyer. Neither injury is considered life-threatening.

Corasanti spent time in jail for DWI in connection with the 2011 crash that claimed the life of Alix Rice.
