Amherst, NY (WBEN) - Apple fans across Western New York lined up in anticipation this morning, waiting to get their hands on one of two new iPhones that were made available to purchase today.
"We've been busy since very early this morning," said Bob Holliday, who is Vice President and General Manager of upstate New York AT&T. "We opened our doors at eight o'clock, but all of our stores, we have eight AT&T stores in Buffalo, had long lines this morning."
Apple today released the new iPhone 5s and 5c. Earlier this week they released their new iOS7 software that will run on the new phones.
Despite the new features and new look, Holliday doesn't think that iPhone users will have any problem adapting to the changes. "Our customers are very savvy iPhone users, and not only iPhone users, but wireless users today are very very savvy. So there hasn't been any confusion, as a matter of fact there's been a lot of comments" Holliday said. "The comments I'm hearing from customers are on how smooth this launch has been."
Holliday says that about half of the people buying a new iPhone on launch day are people upgrading from older model iPhones. The other half are people new to iPhones all together.
