Niagara Falls, NY (WBEN / release) -- A Niagara Falls woman is dead, and a couple from North Carolina is charged with murder.
Niagara Falls Police say the couple was in town to attend a wedding. Early Saturday morning, 42-year-old Cammesoa Williams got into an altercation with two women, and her companion, 50-year-old Richard Moore, shot the victim once in the abdomen.
The couple left the North Avenue address, but police say, they immediately returned and this time Williams shot the victim in the buttocks.
She was rushed to ECMC, but died of her injuries.
Niagara Falls Police release:
At 3:57am this morning Niagara Falls police were called to 1828 North Ave for a shooting. The victim, a 39 year old Niagara Falls woman, suffered two gunshot wounds. Two people were arrested at the scene: Richard Henry Moore, 50 years old of Winston-Salem, NC and Cammesoa Marie Williams, 42 years old also of Winston-Salem, NC.
Moore and Williams were in town for a wedding and meet the victim through a friend. An argument and physical fight ensued between the victim, Williams and a third woman in an apartment at 1828 North Ave. Moore then shot the victim in the abdomen and he and Williams left the scene momentarily in their rental car. Moore and Williams then returned to the scene and Williams then shot the victim as well, this time in her buttocks, with the same handgun. NFPD officers then arrived and took both suspects into custody without incident.
The victim's identity is not being released pending the nonfiction of family members.
[The victim] was rushed into emergency surgery at ECMC, however she did not survive. The two suspects are now both charged with murder second as well as criminal possession of a weapon second and criminal use of a firearm second.
