Man Charged In Buffalo Pursuit

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released more information on a police pursuit that ended in a three-vehicle crash at a Buffalo intersection, injuring seven people.
State police say 22-year-old Assad Hixon of Niagara Falls was driving the vehicle troopers tried to pull over near Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo last Sunday afternoon.
Police say Hixon refused to stop and sped through a red light at an intersection, hitting two other vehicles. Hixon and his passenger, a 17-year-old man from Niagara Falls, were both injured, along with five people in the two other cars.
The other five were treated and released. The teenager remains hospitalized.
The charges against Hixon include vehicular assault and unlawful fleeing a police officer. It couldn't be determined if he had a lawyer yet.
