Buffalo School Board Member Carl Paladino isn't giving up in his crusade to remove Board President Barbara Seals-Nevergold and has asked the state to rule on the legitimacy of her election to the body.
Paladino contends that Nevergold was appointed to fill at at-large vacancy on the board in 2011 and according to state by-laws should have run for election the following May but never did.
Paladino introduced a measure at Wednesday evening's school board meeting to have Nevgergold step aside until the state can determine if she is a certified board member; he was unable to get another board member to second the motion
In another development at last night's meeting, Mary Pauly was introduced as Buffalo's new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum Assessment. Pauley was formerly with the Cleveland Hill School District.
