--With news that Ford Motor Company could be adding 350 jobs as a result of state funding and a new labor agreement, the Buffalo Employment and Training Center has begun to refer folks to Ford for those jobs, You can drop in at 77 Goodell St. or call 856 jobs for more information. Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday said the state will give Ford $7 million in incentives for the expansion, including a $5 million capital grant for equipment purchases and $2 million in tax credits.

--Gov. Cuomo also announced that two California-based companies, Soraa and Silevo, will invest $1.5 billion to relocate parts of their operations to Buffalo. Nietherof those companies have posted any Buffalo jobs or hiring information yet

--Northrop Grumman Corporation has been awarded a $219 million contract by the U.S. Air Force for the Joint Threat Emitter (JTE) Follow-On Production program. The contract is for a warfare simulator that replicates n of surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery threats . The contract will be at Northrup's Amherst Systems site.

 --A Buffalo area debt collector will pay $165,000 to settle claims that he engaged in illegal business practices.  New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Thursday that Joseph Bella's companies improperly solicited personal information through employers and sent letters that purported to be from an attorney to collect debts. He also tried to collect on illegal pay day loans.  Bella operated several debt-collection companies in the Buffalo area beginning in 2008, shutting one company down before beginning operations under a new name.

 --CEPA Gallery is one of 12 recipients of the 2013 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Awards to be handed out at the White House today ,, it's the nation's highest honor for after-school arts and humanities programs.
