- Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the University at Buffalo are looking to build a closer relationship. Top officials from the two institutions are meeting Monday with a consultant and state officials to discuss greater collaboration. Dr. Donald Trump, president and CEO of the cancer center, tells The Buffalo News that the discussions could include a possible merger.
Rep. Brian Higgins has vowed to fight a merger, saying it would destroy Roswell Park's standing as one of the nation's 41 federally designated comprehensive cancer centers. That designation is up for renewal.

-The Better Business Bureau of Buffalo is warning consumers and busine owners about mulitple scams involviong the use of Green Dot money pak cards. The cards are legitimate, but because they are untraceable - victims are being asked to send money with them as part of traditional "grandson in jail " and other related scams.
-Ice Hockey systems of Buffalo has partnered with the NHL hall of famer Denis Savard to launch a new online series of animated training drills and study guides for youth coaches. Its a subscription service that even lets coaches animate thier drills and e-mail them to players.
