The value of a typical home in the Buffalo area has increased by 7.31 percent during the past five years. That's according to a report issued by the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Only 19 of the nation's 102 major markets experienced increases in home values since 2008. Buffalo placed seventh in the national rankings.
Among mid-sized metropolitan areas, the Buffalo-Niagara Falls region has been ranked the fourth-best “college town” in the U.S. Business First reports that comes from the American Institute for Economic Research in its most recent index, which considered 229 census regions in the survey.
