Not Guilty Plea in DWI Plow Arrest



Buffalo, NY (WBEN/AP) A Buffalo snow plow driver who police say was drunk behind the wheel of his plow when he hit a building and a taxi cab appeared in court Monday.

Buffalo police say 47-year-old James Evans was driving a city plow truck when he hit a building near an intersection around 5 a.m. Sunday. Police say he hit a cab a short time later. The cab driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers say Evans never stopped after hitting the cab. Police found him at his home and charged him with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an injury accident and criminal mischief.

Today in court, Evans pleaded not guilty. Bail has been set at $20,000. He was ordered to surrender his driver's license. Evans has been suspended without pay, and appeared in court this morning.
