Amherst, NY (WBEN) - With so many people buying last-minute gifts, it's only reasonable that many of them will last-minute ship.
But there isn't much time left for people to get their packages to their destinations before the holidays. Travis Robat is the Manager of the UPS store in Amherst, he expects the days leading up to Christmas to be the same as years past. "It's going to be chaos," Robat said, "it is every year, it's kind of just one of those things you get used to, but it sneaks up on you quickly."
Robat says that if you're truly a last minute shopper, you can bring your gift straight from the mall to his store where they can wrap and package everything for you.
While Robat has been shipping Christmas packages for years, he says he's not too sure if having Christmas on a Wednesday will impact last-minute shippers. "This is an odd year for us, I'm really not sure what to expect. Christmas usually falls more towards a weekend so that's what we're used to. Most people do wait for the last minute, it's just the nature of the beast, and that's what we're expecting."
If you're the type of person who likes to turn last-minute in to last-second, the last day to get next day air shipments in by the holiday is December 23rd.
