Where to Drop Off Christmas Trees in Buffalo

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) When the holidays end, the ornaments and tinsel will soon come down, and that Christmas tree will soon be thrown away. But the city of Buffalo is offering its residents an opportunity to help the environment as they drop off that tree.

The week of January 6th, Buffalo will collect Christmas trees from your curb. While you put the tree out on the curb with your regular garbage, the tree will be collected separately on the normal day of garbage pickup.

You can also wait until January 18th for a Christmas tree and e-waste event at Honeywell Specialty Materials on Peabody near Elk. There, your tree will be chipped at no cost, with the chips returned to you to use as mulch in the spring.

In addition to the one-week tree pick-up, the City is also offering drop-off opportunities at three locations in the city. These locations are as follows:

·     Cazenovia Park - Golf course parking lot (South of Seneca Street, at the foot of Wildwood)

·     Shoshone Park - Parking lot (North off of Hertel, at the foot of Beard)

·     DPW Engineering Garage - 1120 Seneca Street - rear parking lot (between Babcock and Smith)

Signage will be posted at all locations.  These drop-off sites will be open from 7:30 am – 3:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, beginning December 28 and ending January 18.
