Williamsville, NY (WBEN) - The Amherst Police Department is warning people who have purchased jewlery from R.S.N.P. Diamond Exchange in Williamsville to have it inspected after the store's operator was arrested.
On Friday March 21st, the Amherst Police arrested 47 year old Paul Blarr for selling jewelry which he misrepresented as diamonds. Detectives Herbert Leising and David Kubiak with assistance from Robert Robertson of the Scientific Division of the Erie County Sheriff’s Department charged Blarr with three counts of Grand Larceny and one count of Scheme to Defraud all of which are felonies.
In a press release, Amherst Police say that the investigation continues into Blarr’s business practices at R.S.N.P. Diamond Exchange located on Main St. in the Village of Williamsville. Anyone who has purchased jewelry from Blarr or this business is urged to have their jewelry checked for authenticity and contact the Amherst Police Department at 689-1340 if they are a victim of fraud.
