Ex-Treasurer of Youth Hockey Program Sentenced

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The former treasurer of a western New York youth hockey club has been sentenced to weekends in jail and community service for stealing $90,000 from the club to support a gambling addiction.

Teresa Fusani apologized for letting down families who'd trusted her as she was sentenced Monday in state Supreme Court in Buffalo.

The 49-year-old former treasurer of the Depew Saints Hockey Club pleaded guilty in November to second-degree larceny and has repaid the money she took between 2006 and 2010.

The weekend jail sentence will last for four months, followed by five years' probation and 500 hours of community service.
