Winter Weather Advisory for ALL of WNY



Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - As Saturday night's rain changed to snow, the National Weather Service quickly placed the entire region under a Winter Weather Advisory.  Driving was slippery and numerous accidents were reported as the heavy wet snow piled up.This was the scene at 5am this morning in Amherst outside the WBEN Studios:

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT SUNDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A WINTER
WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING DRIZZLE...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EDT SUNDAY.

* LOCATIONS...NIAGARA AND NORTHERN ERIE COUNTIES.

* TIMING...THROUGH LATE SUNDAY MORNING.

* HAZARDS...WET SNOW AND SLEET THIS EVENING CHANGING TO ALL WET SNOW
  OVERNIGHT THEN ENDING WITH SOME FREEZING DRIZZLE SUNDAY MORNING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...2 TO 4 INCHES OF WET SNOW AND SLEET TONIGHT AND
  AN INCH OR LESS SUNDAY.



* IMPACTS...SNOW AND SLEET THIS EVENING CHANGING OVER TO WET SNOW
  OVERNIGHT WILL RESULT IN SLICK ROADS AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL
  CONDITIONS.
