Peace Bridge Plans Proceed

Buffalo Business Report - Wednesday, April 16th 2014

Business First reports that the Empire State Development Corp. is seeking bids to demolish much of the Episcopal Church Home property that neighbors the Peace Bridge.  Bids are due back May 5th.  This is the first step in the renovation of the U.S. side of the Peace Bridge plaza.  Empire State Development bought the nearly five-acre property last June for $4.73 million.
Amherst collections agency Primary Financial Services will close on July 11.  The company sites  “economic” reasons for the idling of 121 workers.

Arcade-based Koike Aronson Inc./Ransome has received a $14 million order for welders.  The company manufactures metal cutting and positioning equipment.

Goodwill Industries of WNY has partnered with Computers For Children to offer reconditioned corporate computers at all eleven of its store locations.  The co-branded effort, named Goods for Geeks, will employ a "technology made simple" theme and make desktop and laptop computers available for sale starting at $99.
