Buffalo/Tonawanda, NY (WBEN) - Local police have identified two men who died in seperate accidents over the weekend.
Buffalo police have identified the victim of a Saturday morning accident as 47 year old Kevin Wayne Brown of Buffalo.
The incident occurred at 1:30am Saturday morning at Humboldt Parkway and the 33. The crash did follow a police pursuit, but not involving city police.
Transit Police say they pursued two street racers for a time early Saturday morning, but backed off when Brown started driving the wrong way on Woodlawn. Brown's vehicle then crashed into a guard rail on the upper section of Humboldt Parkway before it careened onto the 33, hitting a barrier and bursting into flames.
Emergency medical personnel happened to be on the expressway and saw the crash, but were unable to extricate the driver from the burning wreckage.
In the Town of Tonawanda, police have identified the man who died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday as 19 year old Dante Mancuso of the Town of Tonawanda.
Tonawanda Police say the investigation is continuing. As of yet no charges have been filed. An autopsy is scheduled for this morning.
Excessive speed and operator inexperience of the motorcyclist are being pursued as contributing factors of crash.
