Tandoori's Owner Admits to False Tax Return

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The owner of a popular Williamsville restaurant admits to filing a false tax return.

Federal prosecutors say Ravi Sabharwal underreported gross receipts for his restaurant Tandoori's.
In 2012, prosecutors say Sabharwal tried to sell Tandoori's and two related businesses by listing them for sale with a broker.

IRS undercover agents posing as prospective buyers, met with Sabharwal, and they say he admitted to underreporting taxable income by not depositing all receipts into business bank accounts and not running related business receipts through the register.

Sentencing is set for August 6th.
