State Assemblyman David DiPietro of East Aurora has come up with a novel way to raise money for his re-election campaign. He's offering donors either cash prizes or their choices of a dozen or so firearms.
DiPietro is calling his Saturday, May 3rd event a "Second Amendment and Sportsman Door Prize Extravaganza."
It's scheduled from 1 PM to 5 PM at the North Java Fire Hall.
The firearms include shotguns and rifles. The grand prize is a Henry Big Boy 45 LC Delux, a collectible rifle
DiPietro has often spoken out on gun rights, and was a sponsor of a failed measure to repeal the NYS Safe act. The law requires residents with “assault weapons,” defined as any semi-automatic weapon with a “military-style” feature, be registered with the state.
