Fired Administrators Suing Buffalo Public Schools

Yamilette Williams and Faith Alexander -- who were fired by the Buffalo School Board for not having the proper certifications to perform their jobs -- are suing for at least three million dollars apiece.

The suit claims the women were deceived by the district into believing they had the proper certifications -- and then terminated for "selfish political purposes."

The lawsuit accuses all nine members of the School Board -- particularly Carl Paladino -- with defamation of character, libel and slander.

It was Paladino who brought the women's lack of certification to light six months after they were hired, citing as another example of poor administration in the district.

There was a flurry of activity in March to try and get the women accredited through an accelerated BOCES program -- but no explanation as to why it took half a year before someone tried to fix the mistake.
