Buffalo Marathon



The Men's Winner in the Buffalo Marathon this morning is Kip Tisia of Kenya, who now makes his home in  Rochester, NY. KIp broke the course record in 2:17:55. Photo Courtesy of Buffalo Marathon.

(WBEN) The Buffalo Marathon is off and running . Runners started downtown at Franklin and Huron at 7 a.m., and are racing through the streets of the city to north Buffalo, before doubling back to the finish line outside the Buffalo Convention Center.They are passing thru the waterfront and a number of Buffalo's Olmstead Parks and by may of the famous architectural buildings in our area.

There is a 5-K that kicked off at 6:45 am in Memory of John Beishline.The 5K Winners are Robert Swick and Samantha Ridolfi.

In the Half-Marathon the winners are in:Kumsa Adugna Magersa from Ethiopia in the Men's and Laura Hagley from New Hampshite in the Women's.

WBEN's Tom Pucket will be Master of Ceremonies at the festivities.
