Birdair, a WIlliamsville design build company that creates fabric roofs for sports arenas and other buildings has announced the completion of three major World Cup projects in Brazil .  Here's their release:

The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup is the king of soccer competitions, so it’s only appropriate that three of the 2014 venues will be crowned with roofing by Birdair, the leading specialty design build contractor of lightweight long-span roofing systems and tensile structures of all sizes.

The renovation of Estadio Mineirao Arena in Belo Horizonte and Estadio Nacional in Brasilia, as well as the construction of the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador are now completed. (AP) - New York state wants to help returning service members get jobs in the energy industry. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that five electric and natural gas companies are working with the state to design programs to provide workforce training for veterans interested in working for a utility.
The utilities will work with colleges to create the program. The state's Division of Veteran's Affairs will coordinate outreach efforts to veterans. Cuomo says the program can help returning military service members adjust to civilian life while giving them valuable career skills.
